Match the build to how you work in Live
Ableton leans hardest on single-thread CPU speed for low-latency monitoring, then on RAM for sample libraries. The GPU does very little beyond driving your displays.
| Workflow | Recommended CPU | GPU / VRAM | RAM | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Recording and live performance at low buffer | Ryzen 7 9800X3D (high single-thread, large cache) | RTX 5060 8GB (display output only) | 32GB DDR5 | |
Sample-heavy production with big plugin chains | Ryzen 9 9950X3D (single-thread plus more cores) | RTX 5060 Ti 16GB (multi-display) | 64GB DDR5 | |
Large orchestral templates and streamed libraries | Threadripper 7960X (24 cores for many tracks) | RTX 5070 12GB (multi-display) | 128GB DDR5 ECC |
The biggest gains in Live come from a CPU with strong single-thread speed and large cache (the reason we favour Ryzen X3D parts), because that is what lets you run lower buffer sizes without audio dropouts. Spending on a high-end GPU brings no benefit to audio, so we put that budget into RAM, fast NVMe and quiet cooling instead.
Why CREATE PCs
Tuned for low latency, not just high core counts
We pick CPUs with the single-thread speed and large cache that let Live hold steady at low buffer sizes, which is what actually matters when you are tracking or performing.
Genuinely quiet at the desk
Every Ableton build uses low-noise fans, considered airflow and a sensible fan curve so the machine stays near-silent during quiet passages and sensitive recording.
Hand-built in Stevenage and backed for five years
Each PC is assembled, cable-managed and stress-tested by hand in our Stevenage workshop, then covered by our 5-year warranty with honest UK support.
