Recommended Pro Tools specs by session size

Pro Tools rewards strong single-thread CPU performance and a stable, low-latency, quiet system over a powerful GPU.

Pro Tools depends on single-thread CPU speed and low-latency stability, not GPU power. Big sample libraries and high track counts are RAM- and fast-NVMe-bound; we build these for quiet operation.

Why CREATE PCs

Built quiet

Noctua air cooling and low-RPM PSU fans on every tier — designed to sit alongside microphones, not under a desk.

Right I/O topology

HDX and HD Native cards get dedicated PCIe lanes; Thunderbolt 4 for UAD Apollo, RME and Antelope interfaces.

Tuned for low-latency audio

BIOS settings (C-states, power profiles) and Windows configured for stable 64-sample buffer performance.

Pro Tools PCs FAQs

Is Pro Tools supported on AMD?

Yes — Pro Tools is fully supported on both AMD and Intel platforms as of recent releases. Threadripper PRO is the right call for scoring stages and 100+ track sessions due to memory bandwidth.

Do I need a graphics card for Pro Tools?

No, but a modest GPU helps with multi-display setups (mixer + edit + transport) and offloads UI rendering. We default to integrated graphics on the entry tier.

Thunderbolt or USB for my audio interface?

Either works — UAD Apollo, RME Babyface and Antelope Discrete all run beautifully on the right setup. For UAD Apollo specifically, Thunderbolt 4 is the right answer; we spec accordingly.
