PC Build of the week – AMD 7950X & RTX 4090 Custom EKWB Water-cooled PC

An incredible build with a complete custom-loop water-cooling setup by EKWB.

The complete list of components can be found below, as can a video and image gallery of the build.

So what do we have here then!? This PC was requested by a game developer who required the most up-to-date and powerful hardware, with very particular requirements for appearance. So with an AMD Ryzen 7950X processor (16-cores of goodness there) and the NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card, it packs all the power needed, and in fact all the power you can currently buy on a consumer-grade system.

The graphics card chosen is the MSI Suprim X, which is one of the premium offerings of the RTX 4090 on the market. In standard guise with its triple cooling fans and massive heatsink, it’s a fabulous GPU, but with an EKWB water block – especially one with an active backplate – we are talking about the best possible configuration for getting the most NVIDIA 4090 performance.

Other components of note are the G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO, which has great compatibility with the Ryzen CPU and Motherboard on the DDR5 platform in 64GB, with its 6000MHz speed. Currently, DDR5 can be a bit dicey, so it’s good to see how stable these G.Skill modules are.

The liquid cooling setup in more detail

All components of the liquid cooling here are EKWB, that includes the CPU water block, GPU water block (already mentioned), the G1 distribution plate, the clear hardline tubing and the fittings.
