In light of the current ongoing situation around delays, we felt it best to be open and transparent about what is going on.
We are only experiencing delays on PCs with parts that are under very high demand,we are not currently experiencing any delays in our service overall, with our phonelines fully manned, we are answering emails and social media messages and as parts arrive we are getting systems built around the clock to get them out to our customers.
The components that are in the highest demand right now are GPUs and CPUs mainly but also PSUs and Motherboards. The Nvidia RTX 3000-series GPUs have experienced delays since launch and also the AMD 6000-series GPUs have barely even surfaced yet. The primary issue we are facing and our fellow system builders are facing is, we have very little visibility on when stock will become available and neither do our suppliers. We have great relationships with the major components distributors in the UK and we are talking with them every day to ensure we are doing everything we can to source parts, however sparse they are right now, one or two components getting allocated to us is better than none and we are working really hard to do this.
The CPUs affected at the moment are the new AMD 5000-series where the demand has outstripped manufacturing capacity, this coupled with logistics issues, have left many people waiting months.
There are serious worldwide logistics issues which stemmed from summer 2020 and has gradually got worse into the start of 2021. The main reasons for this are the demand on shipping services from China, which increased to levels which are unprecedented, with so much PPE being shipped and the increase in demand for technology products. If you can imagine that these items are not only shipped in containers on cargo vessels, but would normally also be carried via air-freight known as ‘belly cargo’ on commercial airliners, which for obvious reasons are not currently flying.
This logistics situation is gradually going to get better but it is something that is already an 8-10 week process in normal circumstances, now extended to 16-20 weeks.
Pre-order is the only way!
You will notice on our website and our competitors websites, the lack of choice and the amount of pre-order components listed, we are all impacted by these issues and all we can ask is for you to place your order, join the queue and be as patient as you can.
Give us a call or send an email to enquire about certain components and find out where you would enter our waiting lists. We are lucky in a way, as we are a relatively new business, we have short pre-order queues for the major components compared with our more established competitors.
If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to speak to our team.
